Midnight Youth formed in 2006 and were immediately ones to watch. Their first two singles achieved Top 40 airplay on NZ radio and TV, and the band were one of the top unsigned bands on Myspace in 2008. Their self funded efforts were more than enough to get them noticed, Warners NZ/Australia signed the band in September 2008 and Midnight Youth released their first single, ‘The Letter’!This first release from the newly signed band was the #1 most played song on NZ radio, and for more than 15 weeks held a spot in the Top 10 on the radio chart. Riding high, they couldn’t have backed this up any stronger with their next single release “All On Our Own.” Another Top 10 single (both singles were simultaneously in the Top 10), another #1 song on NZ radio and #1 on the NZ iTunes chart.
April 27 saw the release in NZ of their debut album “The Brave Don’t Run” - a week later it debuted at #1 on the iTunes album chart and #2 on the NZ album chart, it has recently achieved Gold status.
